Produces high quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine equipment; assists practitioner with operation of radiation detection equipment; orders radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures and prepares them for injection, ingestion, or inhalation; identifies radioactive substance to complete procedures; processes and files films as needed
Performs technical examinations and procedures according to specialty. Directs and leads department functional activities and assignments of technical staff to accomplish daily workload. Ensures service development, personnel management and resource allocation and control to support and enhance patient care. Leads service provided within that modality and regularly provides patient care in that modality.
Education:
Requierd: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certified, (prefer) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered and Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) credential, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Required: 2 years related.
Certifications:
Required: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certified, (prefer) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered and Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) credential, or equivalent combination of education and experience. AHA BLS.
