Position Summary
Under general supervision, takes diagnostic exams with utilization of radiation, magnetic fields and RF fields. Utilization of the CT scanners to perform exams of patient anatomy. Also performs related work as required. CT Technologists ensure all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
- Completion of a 24 month American Medical Association approved course in Radio-logic Technology.
- Possession of certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Possession of current Iowa Permit to Practice.
- Certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Six months of experience working in all aspects of CT Scanning.
- Knowledge of all diagnostic CT Scanning procedures; knowledge of parameters of film quality; knowledge of patient positioning; knowledge of film development; some knowledge of records to be maintained.
- Ability to perform diagnostic CT Scanning procedures; ability to position patients; ability to quality check electronic images as well as developed film; ability to develop film; ability to prepare records.
